For many of us working from home has remained a regular part of our work week as it offers us flexibility, less travel related time and expenses and often a little longer in bed in the morning.
So, what’s the downside?
Unfortunately, a survey performed by the ACTU found that 42% of Australians working from home still do not have a suitable workstation or the correct equipment.
We are using Workspace Week (22-28 August) as an opportunity to remind our patients about a few simple steps to improve their home office set up.
- Use an adjustable office chair that allows your knees to be slightly lower than your hips
- Sit with an upright posture, with shoulders relaxed and feet flat on the floor
- Adjust your monitor height to eye level and monitor distance at arm’s length from where you are sitting
- Consider investing in a sit-stand desk to reduce spinal strain
- Take regular postural breaks
