Is traction good for disc protrusion and back pain?

“Patients with greater herniations tended to respond better to traction. Lumbar traction is both effective in improving symptoms and clinical findings in patients with lumbar disc herniation, and also in decreasing the size of the herniated disc material as measured by CT.”

We utilise a traction and distraction table in our clinic to help reduce back pain, sciatica and disability for people with disc bulges and protrusions.
